Step 1 – Open the chat settings
- Click on the gear icon at the bottom of the menu on the left.
- Select Personal settings .
- Expand the Chat list.
Step 2 – Set how you want to view your chats
Message orientation
- Choose how messages are displayed in the chat (desktop and mobile):
- My messages on the right and other messages on the left .
Compact chat channels
- Set the distance between chat channels in the menu.
- Toggle on Compact chat channels to reduce the distance.
Emojis and reactions
On computer
- Click the gear icon → Personal settings → Chat → Emojis and reactions .
- Swap favorite emojis for quick reactions:
- Click on an emoji you want to change and choose a new one.
- Change skin tone :
- Click on the desired skin tone to update.
On mobile
- Tap the gear icon → Personal settings → Chat → Emojis and reactions .
- Change favorite emojis :
- Tap an emoji you want to change and choose a new one.
- Change skin tone :
- Tap the desired skin tone to update.
Delete messages / Deleted messages
- When a message is deleted, the text appears: "This message has been deleted" .
- To hide this completely:
- Toggle on Hide all traces of deleted messages in chat channels – the text will not be displayed.
- Toggle off if you want the text to be visible.
